KU Student Affairs Communications

KU Student Affairs Communications serves departments within KU Student Affairs, as well as provides support for projects of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs.

We produce content to share information with students that are vital to state compliance, access to Student Affairs programs and services, and connections to the University of Kansas Lawrence Campus. We support our departments in making learning possible for all students.

Departments can submit requests for assistance at least two weeks in advance of a publishing or event date for project support.

We can assist with:

Marketing Strategy

Do you have an upcoming event, initiative launch, or awareness campaign to promote? We can collaborate with you to review results of past campaigns, develop a marketing strategy based on available resources, and create a campaign schedule. Submit a materials or communications request for a "larger campaign" to give some context and schedule a time to discuss.

Social Media Strategy

Social media is a constant source of entertainment and news for students, families, and potential staff. If you would like assistance with a social media campaign, submit a materials or communications request for a "larger campaign" to give some context and schedule a time to discuss. If you would like to set up a consult to discuss your overall social media strategy, please contact Brett Glannon, KU Marketing's Social Media Manager, via email at bglannon@ku.edu

Graphic Design

If you have a communications or marketing material that needs refreshed, or need help re-imagining frequently used artwork, we can help. It's important that we keep designs up-to-date with current KU branding, and with the interests of our audiences. Submit a materials or communications request to share information about your needs and schedule a time to discuss.

Proofreading and Copywriting

Need help with some long-form copy (press releases, brochures, reports, etc.)? Share content with us via a materials or communications request and we can schedule a time to discuss your department's audiences and set up a review timeline.

Email Campaign Development

With Emma HQ, we have the ability to send targeted emails to students, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders. If your department does not have access to Emma HQ, you can submit your current email utilization to Public Affairs via this form to request access. If your usage doesn't fit the criteria to obtain an account for your department, you can work with us to send out emails on behalf of your department. Submit a request for an "email campaign" to the materials or communications request form to share information about your needs and schedule a time to discuss.

Event Photography and Videography

When promoting annual events, its common to wish you had photos or videos from the year before. To arrange a photographer or videographer for an event, submit a request via the photography and videography request form at least two weeks before an event.

Digital Signage

Digital signage is a great way to promote events or deadlines on campus. Submit a request for "digital advertisement" to the materials or communications request form for help creating digital signage, or visit How to KU's digital signage page to add already developed signage to KU's digital signage network.
