Biography —
Emily Lowrance-Floyd (she/they) is the Functional Systems Analyst within the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs, providing support for technology systems and applications used throughout Student Affairs and its 14 units. This includes system administration and user management, troubleshooting, deploying system improvements, researching new applications, managing vendor relations, data collection and analytics, and coordinating with other KU units like Information Technology and Student Information Systems.
Before joining Student Affairs, Emily worked at the State of Kansas as an enterprise systems specialist, where she had a hand in everything from applications management to server architecture, identity provider administration, website development, and device management including vendor relations, end user training and management, website content management and analytics, and system administration. Before that, Emily was at KU as a principal analyst working with faculty data and program review support.
Emily has a Ph.D. in British history from the University of Kansas, having studied British national identity during decolonization in 20th century Kenya, Malawi, and South Africa. She earned her B.A. in history and film studies at Carleton College in Minnesota.
