Campus Engagement Team
The Student Affairs Campus Engagement Team is a group of staff that serves as a liaison between the University of Kansas and student organizations hosting large or high-profile events, either planned or unplanned. The Campus Engagement Team informs event organizers of university policy, KU Police Department requests, their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities, and other information that may affect their individual and collective choices.
If Student Affairs has been made aware of a large gathering or demonstration, a member of the Campus Engagement Team will make efforts to be present in KU branded clothing and with a KU nametag. The team is not responsible for the logistics of these events, their activities, or their messages. The presence of a team member at an event is not an endorsement from the Campus Engagement Team or KU Student Affairs.
While the Campus Engagement Team is organized by Dr. Katie Treadwell, assistant vice provost of Student Affairs, responding staff will vary based on event timing, location, and size. For large-scale events, members of the team will be outfitted in vests that read "campus engagement" for easy identification.
