Erin Reazin-Rosales Named KU Student Affairs September 2026 Employee of the Month
Erin Reazin-Rosales, peer programs coordinator and embedded clinician for Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) has been named the KU Student Affairs September 2026 Employee of the Month!

“I really like getting to connect with and support students,” shared Reazin-Rosales in reference to her previous professional experience prior to joining CAPS in March of 2025. “It’s a population that I previously never focused on, but I really like the student support aspect and serving as a mentor.”
In addition to her role as an embedded clinician, a program launched by CAPS in 2025 to make mental health support more accessible across the Lawrence campus, Reazin-Rosales also supervises the Hope@CAPS peer educators. These peer educators, stationed in the Community Space in the Kansas Union, help students connect with mental health resources and manage daily stressors common for university students.
“Having that dual role serves me well because I like the variety throughout the day. Some days are clinical-heavy, where I’m doing therapy sessions for most of the day or supporting students on my caseload. Other days I’m spending a lot of time doing projects or planning trainings for the peer educators.”
Hope@CAPS peer educators participate in an annual forty-hour mental health peer educator training through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, or NASPA, and weekly team meetings led by Reazin-Rosales.
“Most of the peer educators are interested in a psychology or social work-related career. Talking to them about graduate school and different content areas they’re curious about forms a warm, bonded environment for them all to be in together.”
Reazin-Rosales’s fellow embedded clinicians have recognized her positive impact on CAPS, and on students.
“Erin is an incredible example for students and staff alike at KU,” shared Carley Sherer. “She is so deserving of this recognition for all the ways she makes learning possible for students and makes them feel supported.”
“Erin worked to design a training program for Hope@CAPS that was engaging, community-building, and described by the peer educators as ‘the most fun it's ever been,’” shared Sally Burns. “She created new committees and organizational structure within Hope@CAPS that has added leadership opportunities for peer educators and expands the ways they can give back to the greater KU community.”
“For the therapy aspect of my job, it is a really big honor to be trusted with the vulnerable topics students bring into the therapy room,” Reazin-Rosales confided. “I get to be the person that helps them through it. Their mental health impacts so much of their daily functioning, like whether they’re able to get out of bed and attend class, or able to concentrate with significant anxiety.”
