Congratulations to the April Student Affairs Employee of the Month: Sally Burns!

Sally is a licensed clinical professional counselor and serves as the outreach coordinator and as an embedded clinician in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). As outreach coordinator, Sally serves as the liaison between CAPS and campus offices, departments, and schools. She develops, coordinates, and delivers CAPS outreach and educational programming focused on student mental health and well-being.

In her role as an embedded clinician at Daisy Hill Commons, Sally provides individual therapy services and collaborates with Housing & Residence Life to develop programming and supports for students across campus.

In the words of her nominator, Erin Reazin-Rosales, licensed specialist clinical social worker and peer programs coordinator/embedded clinician in CAPS: “Sally has gracefully moved into one of the busiest times of the year for CAPS’ outreach efforts with absolutely no reduction in the quality of service and care provided to her therapy clients. She has been working hard to build and broaden relationships with campus partners and has already received great feedback. Sally ‘somehow’ [is also] still such a supportive coworker, always willing to get on a quick consultation call about a clinical issue, cheer on her coworkers, and is a solid sounding board for her colleagues.”

Sally, KU Student Affairs recognizes and celebrates your efforts, commitment, and valuable impact on the KU community. Thank you for all you do to make learning possible!
