Faculty and Staff Volunteer Opportunities
As Jayhawks are preparing to return to campus, opportunities for faculty and staff to connect with students are approaching! Below are in-person opportunities to welcome students to the Jayhawk family, as well as meet other KU faculty and staff. Volunteer shifts vary in length and location.
Move-in Operations (Aug. 14-15)
Shift times vary depending on location and volunteer role. Follow up emails from Housing & Residence Life and Parking directing participants to specific location assignments will be sent closer to move-in. Volunteers should be prepared for any type of weather.

How you can help:
Building unloading coordinators greet cars at halls, and then direct them to unload and move their vehicle. This role directs volunteers to help where they are most impactful.
Parking assistants direct car queues as students and guests arrive. They address questions that drivers have and direct cars to the correct hall.
Welcome tent support will answer KU specific questions at the Central Bank Welcome Tent.
Move-In Finish Line Family Reception (Aug. 14-15)
Move-In Day marks a significant milestone—not only for students, but also for their parents, families, and supporters. The Office of Family Engagement invites you to volunteer in welcoming families who have successfully moved their students in and are beginning their journey at KU. Join us in creating a warm and memorable start to their KU experience!

How you can help:
Volunteers will check in Jayhawk family members and pass out commemorative medals.
2025 Panhellenic Association Recruitment (August 15)
The Sorority & Fraternity Life Office is requesting your assistance during The Panhellenic Association's Fall Formal Recruitment during the Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) Process. The MRABA form is what potential new members (PNMs) agree to when they are making their selections during the last round of recruitment. It is crucial we have Staff and Faculty sign up as the current Panhellenic members are not allowed to assist in any part of this process. Volunteers will be required to attend an MRABA/Preference Training.

How you can help:
During your shift(s) you will assist PNMs in making their final decision on either joining an organization or withdrawing from the entire process.
Thank you!
Thank you in advance for helping strengthen our campus community. Please share this opportunity with other KU staff and faculty who are available to help.
