Support for students impacted by Hurricane Ida

Tuesday, August 31, 2021

While Hurricane Ida has passed, I know many of you are still struggling with the devastation your home communities in Louisiana and Mississippi encountered. Your family members and friends are now left to deal with the potentially life-threatening destruction Hurricane Ida left, including power outages.

Student Affairs is here to help. If you need support or someone to listen, do not hesitate to reach out. Call us directly at 785-864-4060 or connect with one of these resources:

  • Student Support and Case Management can help with absence notifications to your instructors, connections to campus resources, and support for your immediate needs.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services offers peer listening hours and individual appointments to help you navigate ongoing challenges and mental health concerns.
  • MySSP provides 24/7 remote mental health and well-being support via a mobile app.
  • Campus Cupboard provides Jayhawks with healthy food options and personal hygiene items.

You are a Jayhawk and we are here for you and ready to help.

Take care and be well,

Tammara Durham, Ed.D.
Vice Provost for Student Affairs

Help us feed hungry Jayhawks

Because when you feel well, you do well.  And you can’t feel well if you are not getting enough quality food to eat.

Your support can help give black Greek letter organizations a permanent home at KU.
