University Career Center
The University Career Center recognizes the important role it plays in recruitment, retention, and post-graduate success of the high quality students attending the University of Kansas. Toward that end, we offer a wide range of quality services designed to support and challenge students at all stages of the career development and implementation continuum.
Graduate Assistant (50%)
The University Career Center (UCC) Program Assistant plays an important role in working with KU students as they address a wide range of career concerns. The GA will promote the holistic career development of students, including students from underrepresented populations in higher education, through taking individual student appointments; creating and implementing workshops; helping coordinate events; spearheading special projects; and connecting underrepresented populations to career services and resources available at the UCC and across the University.
In addition to general knowledge on career planning, the coach will also develop more in-depth industry and occupational knowledge. This is an academic year position supported by a training program. Training begins in early August (Approximately August 9- 13, 2021) with a week-long program designed to teach career coaching methods of the UCC. Training continues throughout the year provided by UCC staff.
