The Center for Sexuality and Gender Diversity (SGD)

The Center for Sexuality and Gender Diversity (SGD) is a clearinghouse of information regarding issues affecting the gender and/or sexuality minority community (LGBTQIA+) — as well as our straight friends, family members and allies. The Center is also a physical lounge space for our LGBTQIA+ students to feel safe and respected on the KU campus! The Center is open for students to study, hang out or connect to our smart TV for group projects, presentations or just to unwind and watch movies.

  • Information about organizations and support services on campus, in Lawrence, throughout the region, and nationally
  • Information about news and upcoming events
  • SGD sensitivity training
  • Academic-related resources, events, and programming

The Center is open to all students, faculty, and staff at the University of Kansas.

Graduate Assistant - Sexuality & Gender Diversity Coordinator (50%) 

The Sexuality and Gender (SGD) Diversity Programs team is comprised of one full-time professional and one Graduate Assistant position. This Graduate Assistant will be responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of comprehensive and experiential programming. The Graduate Assistant will collaborate with other SILC staff members and assist the Assistant Director in the overall management of the programs, services, and resources provided.
